The Oakland County Probate Court oversees all probate court cases in Oakland County, Michigan. Darren Findling of The Probate Pro takes you through the process and what is to be expected when you arrive to the court. We’ll break down some important information when arriving:
- When attending your hearing, you should make sure you know your case number, have the documents needed to proceed, and most importantly, know when your court hearing is.
- Although your court time is at a precise time, it is always good to get there a little bit early because you will not be the only hearing with the time you were given. Many cases are scheduled at the same time.
- In addition to that time, the process may take some time, so always make sure your schedule revolves around the court date. Give yourself plenty of time to drive to the courthouse, park, make your way through security, find the courtroom and then….take a deep breath.
- You will need to go through security. So check your purse. Check your pockets for recording devices, weapons, and cutting instruments. It is no fun to be sent back to your car after waiting in line at security.
