Staff Accountant

What I Do At The Probate Pro

I’m thrilled to work closer to home at the Probate Pro in downtown Royal Oak! As the staff accountant, my job revolves around helping and empowering others to make the best, informed decisions possible – I love that. I spend my time writing checks, taking payments, and preparing deposits. I compile a lot of sensitive information for records or preparation of reports such as a cash flow statement.

Who I Am

With an unusual name like “kah-reece” you simply don’t need or want-for a nickname. I’ve lived in or around Oakland County all my life – aside from living overseas in Japan! I am the proud mother of a vibrant child, Ludie, whom I’ve devoted myself to nurturing her compassion, empathy, and a strong sense of autonomy. I’m fond of the arts, everything from 2-D to disc-jockey. In my spare time, you’re likely to spot me carousing at some local music-venue, looking through another gallery, or perhaps moseying through a library or museum.  If I’m not out and about, then I’m probably at home cooking, baking some recipe of my mother’s, mending and sewing, or zealously cleaning.

Where I'm Going

In college, I’ve studied all sorts of disciplines with great enthusiasm from accounting to geology and thrown myself, heart and soul, into other subjects like gender studies, Native American studies, and religious studies. I have resolved to pursue my B.A. in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in International Studies at Oakland University. If you think that you’d seen me in some longstanding cemetery taking countless measurements, scribbling notes, and etching headstones then you probably did. I was volunteering for the Macomb County Historic Graves Project. One day, someday I will continue onto grad-school.

Where I've Been

It so happens that I can speak Japanese, so in 2012 I began working as the executive assistant and bookkeeper for an internal consulting firm that dealt in the automotive industry in Japan, AMTECH International.

In 2015, I accepted an offer from Mr. Todd F. Flood to tend to the accounting as the Controller of his firm, Flood Law. There I discovered a niche in accounting that especially complemented my temperament and skill-set. Who could’ve known the following year, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette would appoint Todd to spearhead the investigation into the Flint Water Crisis and that I would assist with the accounting.
