As Controller at The Probate Pro, I oversee the financial operations of the firm, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Account Reconciliations. Partnering closely with the Chief Operating Officer and our dedicated team, I ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. I also prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Leadership team, providing them with the insights needed to understand business performance and guide strategic decisions.
I am a family man who loves music and sports (and proudly bleeds Maize and Blue). Our blended family mirrors the Brady Bunch with three boys and three girls—just without Alice or Sam the butcher.
Professionally, I am a proven finance leader with more than 35 years of experience doing what I love. By integrating my background in sales and operations with finance, I bring a well-rounded, strategic perspective to leadership. I’m passionate about developing and supporting those around me, knowing that when my team succeeds, the organization thrives.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me enjoying life with my amazing wife Debbie, cheering on my teams, or patrolling the streets of Gotham.
I began my career working in the family business, Brooks Leather Sportswear, where I helped make and ship leather jackets. After graduating from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), I moved into sales and finance at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, playing a key role in establishing the Leasing and Used Car departments in the Metro Detroit market.
After a decade at Enterprise, I transitioned to a local payroll company during the Y2K era, before joining Comcast, where I spent more than two decades in a wide variety of finance leadership roles. At Comcast, I helped integrate the newly created Internet business into the established Cable company during a time of significant growth fueled by mergers and acquisitions.
Over the years, I was involved in every aspect of finance Budgets, Forecasts, and Month-End Close while leading multiple departments of all sizes, including Supply Chain, Internal Audit, Collections, Courtesy Services, and the traditional Back Office teams such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable/Refunds, and Payroll.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped design and lead a Center of Excellence (COE) for back-office finance operations, managing a team spanning Michigan to Florida and supporting customers across 12 states. We focused on developing and sharing best practices that could be used nationwide. The initiative was a success, but to stay humble we rebranded the team from “Center of Excellence” to Back Office Shared Services a name that felt a little less egotistical. 😉
