The probate court forms are available to download here with a video instruction on how to complete the forms.
During the COVID-19 restrictions regarding the inability to file in person probate pleadings, the Court has established a process for filings by email, fax or US Mail. Michigan’s State Court Administrator’s Office is assisting courts around the state to prioritize filings based on the urgency of the situation. So, if your filing is an emergency, it is important to include in your filing details whether the filing is an emergency or must be expedited. Specifically, the probate court requests that you include “emergency” in the subject line or fax cover sheet with a brief description of the emergency.
The State Court Administrator’s Office (SCAO) created a new confidential Contact Information form to provide for communications by the court electronically. The form can be found here.
The Probate Court created a chart that assists in where and how to file probate pleadings. The chart can be found here. The chart helps identify for each type of probate proceeding where the document should be filed.
